A botanical park with a variety of nurseries and gardens, the place is a delight to spend a few hours in. The park also has an arts center dedicated to Chicano, Mexican, Indigenous and Latino art and culture, a Museum of Photographic Arts, and Science Center, alongside quite a few other historical and art museums. You could spend the whole day there or pick out a few points of interest.
Considered to be “California’s Birthplace”, the old town is a historical monument of the state’s early days. The Old Town San Diego State Historic Park showcases the architecture of colonial San Diego, the Whaley House Museum was built on top of a gallows and is known as an official haunted house, and in the Old Town Market Place, you will find carts with crafts, clothes, and Mexican traditional accessories.
