The reason why Cheong Wa Dae is a hidden gem is that many people still don’t know you are allowed to visit it. Blue House served as a residence for the South Korean presidents from 1948 to 2022. It was recently turned into a public park and offers some excellent points of interest, like buildings designed in traditional Korean architecture, lovely gardens, and various sculptures.
For panoramic views, head to Jeongdong Observatory. Located in Seoul City Hall Seosomun Building, the place used to serve as offices for the government before being turned into a coffee house. You can soak in the stunning Seoul cityscape while sipping a drink or just enjoy the view for free.
