]]>Pizza, pasta, and wineβneed we say more? Each of these three food items all have a unique connection to cheese, and they all happen to be staples of Italy. This country is known for its enchanting food, and its cheese history is no different, having contributed the iconic mozzarella, parmigiano reggiano, gorgonzola, and ricotta cheeses to the world.
Switzerland is so important to the development of cheese that there’s literally a cheese named after it! However, unbeknownst to many, Swiss cheese isn’t the only kind of Swiss cheese (as weird as that is to say). Le GruyΓ¨re and TΓͺte de Moine are also delicious cheese varieties that owe their existence to the country of Switzerland.
Some of our very favorite cheeses wouldn’t exist if not for the French, and we’ll be forever in their debt. Some of these cheeses include the wonderfully intoxicating Brie, the delicious Camembert, and of course Roquefort.
