North Carolina is a big state, and within it, there are some great fall spots to check out. Head west towards the Blue Ridge Mountains and explore Asheville. The downtown, West Asheville, River Arts District, and other neighborhoods are so fun to shop in and eat at, while just a short drive away you can go hiking and camping in the beautiful mountains surrounded by the changing leaves.

New York State

While New York City is always amazing, head upstate and see a completely different view of New York. Visit the Adirondacks region where they have the Adirondacks mountains, along with amazing lakes like the famous Lake Placid. If you want a quiet getaway with tons of natural beauty, this is the place for you to spend fall.

Colorado

September is an ideal time to visit Barcelona because it is still hot, but the beaches are not as crowded with tourists as in the heat of the season. Because of its many churches and historical attractions, Barcelona is an ideal destination to visit any time of the year but still, September wins if you are short on cash and you want to skip the long lines.

Morocco 

September is not too hot in Morocco as it can be in the summer. When in Morocco, you can visit numerous mountain ranges, old cities, and deserts and be greeted by kind locals wherever you go! 

Munich, Germany 

Munich is also high on the list, firstly due to Oktoberfest which starts on September 21 and lasts for 16 days. Of course, there is also great nightlife and tourists are invited to visit the Residence – Germany’s largest royal residence complex which is now an exhibition hall.
