New Zealand is well-known for its black sand beaches, and one of them was heavily featured in The Wilds. Piha Beach, located around 40 kilometers west of Auckland, served as an amazing backdrop for this intriguing series and the iconic Lion Rock formation was visible in several scenes throughout the show.
According to IMDb, some of the scenes were filmed on Bethells Beach, another popular day-trip spot near Auckland. A couple of locations around the city were featured in the flashback scenes taking place before the girls got stuck on the island, including the West Wave Pool, Karaka Lakes Park, and the Auckland Girls’ Grammar School in Newton.

There are two harbors in Auckland with many ships sailing in and out all the time. You can book a one-hour outing through the New Zealand Maritime Museum with a sailboat, which is cool.
A unique experience awaits you only 40-minute ferry ride from Auckland. Waiheke Island is covered in amazing greenery and has a number of wineries for a day to remember.
