]]>Animal lovers will also be at home in the Azores, as it is home of arguably the best whale watching on the planet.
The main island of Sao Miguel is the whale watching starting point if you visit the Azores. From here, boats leave from two main places: the capital city of Ponta Delgada and the smaller village of Vila Franca.
Either is a fine option for whale watching, as these magnificent creatures can be found in plentiful numbers around the island in all places, especially from the months of April to October.
Half-day trips are the usual choice for those who are going whale watching in the Azores, with morning and afternoon trips having an equally good chance of seeing these magnificent animals.
Sperm whales are the main species which can be found around the Azores, as these giant beasts enjoy feeding on the plentiful amount of squid and other seafood which can be found in the waters around the Azores.
Rarely, migrating whales like blue whales, fin whales, and humpback whales can be spotted as they migrate to other places.
In short, any animal lover would be crazy not to go on a whale watching tour while visiting the Azores. Be sure to sign up for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see one of the world’s most majestic creatures.

]]>However, there is one magical place that anyone with an interest in stunning sights and creepy history should think about visiting.
Namibia’s Skeleton Coast comprises the entirety of the country’s 975 miles of coastline on the Atlantic Ocean and is characterized by an extremely arid landscape, sand dunes, and powerful waves coming from currents from the cold South Atlantic Ocean.
Seeing the Skeleton Coast is a must, and there’s no better way to do it than on a multi-day safari with one of the companies that provide unique tours of the region.
These tours take visitors in Jeeps along the expansive sand dunes in the region, showing them high cliffs made of sand and the abandoned wreckages of many ships that have perished over the years due to the unpredictable sea conditions in the area.
This tour is intense and might not be for the weak-hearted, but anyone with an appreciation of the strength of nature will be impressed by what you will see on a safari tour of the Skeleton Coast.
So, what are you waiting for? Why not start planning your trip to Namibia’s Skeleton Coast now?

]]>Tristan da Cunha is a small island located in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean. Located 1,343 miles from St. Helena (the nearest populated island) and 1,511 miles from Cape Town (the nearest human settlement on a continent), this tiny place is about as far as you can get from anywhere else.
The only way to reach Tristan da Cunha, a British Overseas Territory, is by making a six-day boat journey from South Africa. But boy, is the long voyage worth it.
Upon arriving at the island, which raises up from the depths of the sea like an oasis in the dark, you’ll notice the lush greenery that defines the island. The small town of Edinburgh of the Seven Seas is where you’ll debark, and is the home of most of the island’s roughly 250 habitants.
These residents will most likely take you in like a local, showing you the local pub, the beautiful hiking trails on the island’s mountainous terrain, and inviting you in for dinner. A trip to Tristan da Cunha is more like a big family gathering in a spectacularly beautiful location than anything else.
So, if you’re looking to escape civilization as much as possible, why not add Tristan da Cunha to your list of destinations?

]]>Located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the “Green Island” offers visitors a bounty of beautiful natural sights to see and unforgettable places to visit.
Here are the best things to do on a trip to the island of São Miguel.
The sulfuric volcanic waters of the island make the options to visit a hot spring numerous. One of the best hot springs to visit is Caldeira Velha, which is located inside of a rainforest.
Lagoa do Fogo is a lake located inside of a massive volcanic crater. It’s easy to walk from the road down to the lake’s beach as part of an exhilarating 90 minute round trip hike that you’ll never forget.
São Miguel is full of beautiful waterfalls, but my favorite has to be Salto do Prego. Located on a 4-kilometer loop trail is this stunning cascade that falls into a small swimming hole that you can take a dip in.
One must-do thing in the Azores is to find a viewpoint from which to admire the Lagoa das Sete Cidades. These two lakes have different colors and can best be marveled at from a spot like the Vista do Rei viewpoint.
