]]>If you know anything about Greek myth, you’ll know that this was the peak on which the ancient Greeks believed the gods had their homes. Surrounded by beautiful pine forests, this mountain still feels mysterious and powerful today, but unlike some of the more challenging climbs in the Alps or Dolomites, Mount Olympus is a relatively easy climb (although the final section can get technical). If you prefer to just admire the views from afar, the mountain is set within the Mount Olympus National Park, where there are plenty of relaxing trails.
This rugged peak in the Glen Coe National Park is relatively simple to climb, but if you don’t fancy the hike there is always the mountain gondola which provides stunning views over the Ben Nevis range. If you plan to tackle this mountain in fall or winter, make sure you’re experienced and well equipped, as challenging weather can make this mountain dangerous.
The fourth highest mountain in the Alpine range, the hike up can get very challenging and should only be attempted by experienced climbers. However, walks in the foothills of this mountain can be sublime, especially in spring and summer when the mountain flowers are blooming.
