]]> Winter Wonderland is one of the highlights of the festive season in London, UK. Hyde Park is taken over by Christmas markets, stalls selling crepes and delicious mulled wine and better rides than we have seen in some permanent theme parks around Europe.

If you have plans to head there this December, here are our top tips for getting the most out of your experience.

Book in Advance

If you want to enjoy some of Winter Wonderland’s top attractions such as the ice-skating rink, live shows or the Magical Kingdom, book in advance. The event is extremely popular and if you plan on buying tickets on the day, there’s a good chance you will miss out.

Bring cash

Although there are ATM’s in the park, they charge an extortionate amount to withdraw cash. Although some of the stalls are accepting card payments this year, many are still cash only so it is better to get your cash out beforehand.

Attend at off-peak times

On weekends, the park gets extremely busy. If you don’t want to queue for forty-five minutes to get in, head there on a weekday. There will still be a magical buzz but you will have better luck navigating your way around without hordes of people surrounding you.

Pick meeting points

If you decide to brave Winter Wonderland on a weekend, make sure you pick out some meeting points on the map before entering. It can be difficult to find signal in the park so if you don’t want to lose your friends in the crowds, it’s best to pick a meeting point in advance.

Ride the ‘Munich Looping’

Even if there is a queue and you are shocked by the fact it is £9 to ride, we still recommend giving the German coaster a try. It’s the world’s largest portable roller coaster and has five loops.
