St. Petersburg, the former Russian capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a city full of timeless charm and splendor that stuns travelers and leaves them speechless.

One of Russia’s port cities situated on the Baltic Sea, St. Petersburg has rich historical and cultural heritage, reflected in its vibrant architecture, dynamic art scene, an abundance of wonderful landmarks, museums, theatres, and gardens.

The Winter Palace was a residence of the Russian Emperors from 1732 to 1917. The palace is a breathtaking architectural wonder built in Elizabethan Baroque style with an interior that gives the word luxury a new dimension.

The Peterhof Palace is called ‘The Russian Versailles’ because of its exquisite beauty.

The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, which was built on the place where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated, is one of the city’s most peculiar buildings with its multicolored exterior in the Russian Byzantine Revival style.

Another architectural wonder, Saint Isaac’s Cathedral will make you go through 400 steps to get to a colonnade which will give you a spectacular view of the city. The Cathedral is actually the largest orthodox church in the world that currently functions as a museum.
