]]>If you want to take a tour of the White House, there are some important steps to follow. All tours must be requested and booked in advance due to high demand, so keep that in mind.
First, if you are a United States citizen, you must request a tour no more than 90 days and no less than 3 weeks before the requested date. This process is done through your local House of Representatives’ office holder.
If you aren’t a citizen, you must contact your country’s embassy in Washington, DC in order to inquire about the possibility of a tour. Usually, it is more difficult for foreigners to tour the White House, but it isn’t impossible.
The White House is only open for tours from Tuesday through Saturday and is closed on federal holidays. From Tuesday to Thursday, the tours take place from 7:30 am to 11:30 am, and on Fridays and Saturdays, they last until 12:30 pm after starting at the same time.
When requesting your tour, be sure to know which dates you have available for touring the White House, and do it as soon as possible! Availability is limited, so the closer to the 90-day opening you request your tour, the more likely it is that you’ll be able to visit.
Good luck, and enjoy!
