Luang Prabang is a town which can be found in a small country located between Burma, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, called Laos. It isn’t the capital, nor it is the largest city, but it is certainly a place which is worth a trip.

Situated on the Mekong River, the ancient city of Luang Prabang is well known for its breathtaking and beautiful Buddhist temples, mixture of architecture, cultural and religious heritage, picturesque scenery and fresh “royal” cuisine. In the past, before King Phothisarat moved the administrative seat to Vientiane in 1545, it was the ancient royal capital of the Lan Xang Kingdom. This “royal contours” are visible till this day.
Today, it is the number one tourist attraction in Laos and it is under the protection of UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995.
