There is always something happening around the Danube Canal. You’ll find buskers, street art, and hundreds of locals dancing and drinking beer with their feet dangling over the canal. This is definitely one of the coolest neighborhoods Vienna has to offer.

Josefstadt

Josefstadt is one of the most elegant neighborhoods in Vienna. It boasts impressive architecture with buildings that will make your jaw drop. You’ll also find lots of great vegan options and yoga studios here. It’s a quiet area where you can indulge in the hipster lifestyle.

Naschmarkt

Naschmarkt is a world-famous food market. You will find more than a hundred stalls selling all kinds of foods, beverages, and antiques. Browsing the stalls in Naschmarkt is a great way to spend an afternoon.

Danube Island

Escape the city in the summer months by exploring Danube Island. There are free open-air festivals in June and you the water is perfect for swimming.

English translation ⬇ Das ist einer meiner absoluten Lieblingsplätze in Wien: Die Sandinsel an der Südspitze der Donauinsel besteht nur aus Sand, Wasser und Weiden … und dieses schnuckelige Hausboot liegt auch dort. Und was die Sandinsel umso besonders macht ist die Tatsache, dass sie nur bei Trockenheit existiert… und ansonsten unter Wasser liegt. . This is one of my absolute favourite places in Vienna: The Sand Island at the southern tip of the Danube Island consists only of sand, water and willows … and this cute houseboat is also located there. And what makes the Sand Island all the more special is the fact that it only exists when it's dry … otherwise it's under water. . . . #danuberiver #danubeisland #vienna #houseboat #austria
