]]>One of Tucson’s most iconic natural attractions is Saguaro National Park. It’s essentially a vast forest of giant saguaro cacti, which are native only to the Sonoran Desert. You can drive through the scenic loops or hike one of the many trails to enjoy the views.
Part zoo, part botanical garden, and part museum, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is an immersive experience into the life of the Sonoran Desert. Just outside of Tucson, this museum showcases the natural history and wildlife of the desert.
This historic Spanish Catholic mission, located just about 10 miles south of downtown Tucson, is a must-visit. Known as the “White Dove of the Desert,” Mission San Xavier del Bac is a fine example of Spanish Colonial architecture in the United States and is still active with a full schedule of mass services.
