There are many people who put their dream of traveling the world on hold and wait until they’re retired and their kids are grown up to do it. While traveling in retirement can be an amazing idea, you should think of it as something you still can and genuinely want to do. Here are our three tips for future retirement travelers.

Consider Your Budget

Traveling isn’t cheap, and if you want to explore faraway destinations, you should carefully consider the budget you have for this adventure. Your retirement savings may be enough to afford you the trip of a lifetime, but if they’re not, see how you can tweak the plan and still see what you want to see.

Health Issues

You don’t have to be perfectly healthy to travel, just make sure your health won’t get in the way of the great time you can have. Make sure you have enough of your medications on you and be realistic about any possible physical restraints your body puts on you.

Taking a Vacation

Traveling and going on a vacation is not the same, so pick an option you actually want and that will make you feel great. Traveling is an adventure and is much more exciting, but if you’re the type who wants to be comfortable and not worry about anything, taking the vacation of your dreams may be a better solution.

South America has much to offer travelers. I will help you decide which country (or countries) you should visit there. Argentina🇦🇷? Bolivia🇧🇴? Brazil🇧🇷? Chile🇨🇱? Colombia🇨🇴? Ecuador🇪🇨? Paraguay🇵🇾? Peru🇵🇪? Uruguay🇺🇾? . In this post: Peru🇵🇪 Dubbed the “Land of the Incas” because it was once home to the expansive Inca Empire, Peru🇵🇪 has a rich and varied heritage that includes the ancient Inca capital of Cuzco (with many well-preserved buildings dating back to Inca and Spanish colonial times) and the lost city of Machu Picchu (“Lost City of the Incas”, Peru’s most popular tourist attraction, and one of the world’s most famous archaeological wonders). In addition to these, the country boasts a variety of other attractions, such as Sacred Valley ir the Incas (contains numerous archaeological remains and villages including the Inca cities of Písac and Ollantaytambo), Kuelap, Manú National Park, Nazca Desert (with Nazca Lines), Huacachina Desert, Cordillera Huayhuash, Rainbow Mountains and Red Valley, Colca Canyon, Moray, Sacsayhuaman, and spectacular scenery, including Lake Titicaca (the world's highest navigable lake). Peru’s capital, Lima, is the undisputed culinary powerhouse of South America. Other cities also offer picturesque hillside setting, mix of the indigenous and Spanish colonial cultures, volcanoes, gateways to exploring the Amazon and desert, beach resorts, surf beaches, fishing port, like Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), Arequipa, Iquitos, Trujillo, Mancora, Puno. . 📷Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), Ollantaytambo, Písac, Cuzco, Lake Parón, Rainbow Mountains, Cordillera Huayhuash, Arequipa, Lima @senior_traveller @enigmaperu @peru @peruhop . . . . . #SeniorTraveller #culturalvisit #lovemylife #viagemcultural #beatifuldestinations #travelgram #iphonephoto #amazingtrips #parks #natureloversgallery #perfectnature #landscape_lover #montains #americas #southamericatrip #perugram #vallesagrado #machupicchu #cuzco #machupichu

Not Being Realistic About Age

Physical abilities tend to decline with age and it’s important to consider the new limitations that can make traveling more difficult or frustrating. If you’re a senior who wants to travel alone, be realistic about how far you can walk, ride, or hike in order to avoid awkward situations on the road.

Not Considering Group Travel

You’ve always wanted to travel alone and you won’t hear about any other option but sometimes traveling in a group is simply better. This depends mostly on the location, but often there are benefits to having a tour guide and an organized itinerary and travel as a part of a group.

Overpacking

There are so many things you need to bring with you, but overpacking can limit your mobility and make traveling more expensive. Try to pack in a carry-on whenever you can and enjoy being able to quickly move from one place to another.
