Powell’s is claimed to be the largest independent chain of bookstores in the world! This flagship branch in Portland takes up a city block and customers are provided with a map to find their way around the huge collection. And of course, there’s also a café on site.

Librarie Avant-Garde, Nanjing, China

Known as China’s most beautiful bookstore, it’s surprisingly located in an underground parking lot. The store was opened to serve as a public library and is constantly expanding to other cities in China.

One becomes immaculate and pure, by associating with the Saints, O Nanak, and taking the Protection of the Transcendent Lord. ||1|| The burning of the heart is not dispelled at all, by sandalwood paste, the moon, or the cold season. He contemplates the Naam, he studies the Naam, and he remains lovingly absorbed in the Naam. He obtains the treasure of the Naam, and his anxiety is dispelled. Meeting with the Guru, the Naam wells up, and his thirst and hunger are completely relieved. ਅੱਜ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖਵਾਕ: ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮ: ੪ ॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ ਨਾਮੋ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੜੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਗਈ ਬਿਲਾਇ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਤਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਸਭ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਤਿਆ ਨਾਮੋ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ {ਅੰਗ 653} Within the Gurmukh is peace and tranquility; his mind and body are absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. He contemplates the Naam, he studies the Naam, and he remains lovingly absorbed in the Naam. He obtains the treasure of the Naam, and his anxiety is dispelled. Meeting with the Guru, the Naam wells up, and his thirst and hunger are completely relieved. O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, he gathers in the Naam. ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਠੰਢ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੋਂ ਤਨੋਂ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਚਿਤਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ; ਨਾਮ (ਰੂਪ) ਸੁੰਦਰ ਵਸਤ ਲੱਭ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਤਾਂ ਨਾਮ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੁੰਗਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ (ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਰੂਪ) ਪੱਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਕਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧। अर्थ :- अगर मनुख सतगुर के सन्मुख है और उसका अंतर शांत है ठंडा है और वह मन से तन से नाम में लीन रहता है; प्रभु के नाम को ही याद रखता है, नाम ही पड़ता है और नाम में ही बिरती जोड़ कर रखता है; नाम (रूप)  सुंदर वस्तु प्राप्त कर के उस की सारी चिंता दूर हो जाती है। अगर गुरु मिल जाये तो नाम (हृदय में पैदा होता है, तृष्णा दूर हो जाती है। (माया की) भूख दूर हो जाती है। हे नानक! नाम में रंगे जाने के कारण ही (ह्रदय-रूप) पल्ले में उघड आता है।१। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਹਿ Pic by @gouravsharma_3d #darbarsahib#harmandirsahib#sridarbarsahib#goldentemple#singh#kaur#punjabivirsa#punjabi#new#sikh#travel#instasikhi#travelgram#sikhiforall#instagram#instatravel#photography#indiatravelgram#travelrealindia#sikhexpo#indianphotography#photographers_of_india#indiaclicks #india#follow4follow#likeforlike#mexposureindia#like4like #phodus#waheguru_ji_ka_khalsa_waheguru_ji_ki_fateh_jio
