Nobody wants to wash their clothes while traveling. However, sometimes you don’t have a choice because you either under-packed or need a particular clothing item that got dirty in the meantime. If you have a washing machine in your accommodation, this isn’t a problem. But what if you don’t?

Luckily, this doesn’t have to be as challenging as it seems. Simply follow these tips to make washing clothes while traveling a breeze.

Pack Clothes Made out of Synthetic Material

Synthetic material is easier to wash and dries quickly, so let this be one of the guidelines when deciding what to pack. This will save you lots of time if you need to wash your clothes while traveling.

Make Sure to Properly Soak the Clothes

In order to remove dirt or stains more easily, you will need to properly soak your clothes. If you don’t have anything you could use as a washbowl, fill the bathtub or the sink with water, add detergent, and let your clothes soak there while giving it an occasional spin. Any stains or dirt will be much easier to remove, and you won’t have to waste much energy on scrubbing.

Use Liquid Soap if You Don’t Have Detergent

In case you can’t find some detergent, you can use liquid soap. It will do the job, refreshing the clothes, although it might not be too powerful with more stubborn stains.

Be Strategic With Drying

Don’t just hang the clothes over a chair and expect it to properly dry. Instead, check out if your bathroom has a heated towel rack, which would be ideal for this kind of job. If not, then open the window and hang your clothes as close to it as possible.
