If you’ve never heard of Barbados before, it’s high time to start learning about all of the things that this beautiful Caribbean island has to offer.

Located in the Lesser Antilles in the warm and tranquil Caribbean Sea, this island of fewer than 300,000 habitants offers travelers a tropical paradise that doesn’t have the crowds of many other destinations in the region.

Barbados was a British colony for hundreds of years, and the mark that British occupation left on its culture is palpable. Sports such as cricket and traditions like afternoon tea remain popular in Barbados. Tourists can definitely participate in these traditions during their stay on the island.

The island also has a strong musical tradition. Did you know, for example, that superstar singer Rihanna hails from the island?

Barbados’ main attraction, however, are its beaches and resorts.

As an island nation, Barbados is chock-full of pristine white sand beaches. One of the most popular things for tourists to do on the island is simply visit a resort and relax in the sand.

Top beaches to visit in Barbados include Bathsheba, which is a natural, virgin beach located far from mass tourism. Another great beach to visit is Crane Beach, a beautiful wonder.

Visit Barbados as soon as you can!
