Ever looked up at a building and thought “this has got to be the tallest building in the world”? Now you can find out if it actually makes the list.

Jeddah Tower (Saudi Arabia)

The tallest building in the world is exactly one kilometer high. It was designed by the architect Adrian Smith and although it is not yet complete, when it’s finished in 2020 it will be the first building to hit the 1,000-meter mark.

Wuhan Greenland Center (China)

Second by a long way is the 636-meter tall Wuhan Greenland Center, also, unfinished. We didn’t think it was possible to be attracted to a building, but this one is sleeeeek.

Merdeka PNB118 (Malaysia)

Just a few centimeter’s off is the Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The tower is also in progress and is predicted to be 630 meters by 2020.

Ping an Finance Center (Shenzhen, China)

In fourth place is the Ping An Finance Center, which stands proudly at 599m. The view from the top is also unsurprisingly spectacular.

Goldin Finance 117 (China)

China pretty much dominates the list of the tallest buildings in the world and in fifth place, we have the Goldin Finance 117 which stands at 596.5 meters tall. When you’re competing to be in the select list of supertall skyscrapers, every half-meter counts.
