For history lovers, the National History Museum will cover the history of Bulgaria.
Vitosha Boulevard, perhaps the most famous street in Sofia, is a great place for shopping. Even if you are not into upscale shops and restaurants, the view of Vitosha Mountain in the background will take your breath away and it’s definitely worth a visit.
For the outdoor lovers, Vitosha Mountain is the iconic backdrop of the city. With many public transportation options available, it’s an easy day trip and there are trails to choose from for all distances. If you are looking for a little more intense trip, the Seven Rila Lakes is an absolute beauty! Whether it be winter or summer, the views from this hike are incredible and it is only 1.5 hours from the city.
