New Year’s is going to look pretty different this year. Social distancing is still a reality in most places, but that doesn’t mean that you and your close friends can’t form a bubble during this time and spend New Year’s Eve together. Here’s how to plan a safe staycation.

Choose who you want in your bubble, it should be no more than six people. Then, all six of you should agree to self-isolate from other people for a two week period. Before your staycation begins, each person should receive a COVID-19 test. If everyone’s results are negative, then you are safe to hangout with each other.

Book an Airbnb or cabin in a secluded area, and bring all of your toiletries, food, and drinks with you. You do not want to have to go to a grocery store and making meals together is a nice way to bond. The main idea is to distance yourself from anyone not in your bubble.

Crack open a bottle of champagne at midnight and enjoy the New Year. 2021 is going to be great and being able to spend some time with your closest friends while following health protocols, is a nice staycation.

Finger Licking Foodie Tours based in Las Vegas, Nevada has been providing luxury food tours for the discerning foodie for a number of years. Nowadays, many people are hesitant to venture into restaurants for a sit-down meal, which is why the food tour company created a very special tour.

The Tour

The tour company has paired with the Aria Resort and Casino, which is known for its high dining experiences. For $150 per person, guests will have exclusive access to three of the four restaurants in the complex. This also includes a guarantee that you will be the only two diners at your allotted time in the restaurant. For an added $60, a beverage component can be added which includes wine and cocktail pairing with the meals.

The Restaurants

The four restaurants that are on rotation are Carbone, Jean Georges Steakhouse, Catch, and BARDOT Brasserie. Both the Steakhouse, and the Brasserie have Michelin-starred chefs, who serve up dishes designed with the foodie in mind. Carbone and Catch serve Italian cuisine and seafood.

Extras

If you don’t want your night to end after all of this fine dining, then you can add-on a scenic helicopter tour over the Las Vegas Strip at night. It’s $200 per person, and you will be chauffeured to the helipad in a private car.

This tour is designed to have as little contact as possible, and allow for physical distancing.

Drive When You Can

If you can, it’s a good idea to drive instead of using public transport. Any vehicle with more people inside, whether it’s a plane, train, or a bus, is potentially unsafe and you’re better alone (or with family) in your car. Beware of gas stations when you stop for gas and snacks, wash your hands carefully, and use hand sanitizer!

Go to Nature

Now may not be a great time for visiting new cities and exploring their museums, busy streets, restaurants, and shopping centers. It’s better to plan a vacation somewhere where you can enjoy nature and where it’s not crowded so that you can stay safe.

Visit Less Popular Destinations

You may want to avoid the most popular destinations right now. Even during these times, there may be more people there than you’d like and there are plenty of amazing alternatives that you can explore instead, so why risk it.
