]]>One of the most interesting installations is the musical sculpture in Crown Point, Burnley. It’s 10 feet tall and consists of wind-powered swirling pipes that look like a bent tree. As the wind blows through the pipes, it creates a sound best described as eerie.
It was designed by Mike Tonkin and Anna Liu and it was a part of a project where designers sculpted landmarks across the East Lancashire countryside.
Tonkin and Liu’s metal tree won the architectural excellence National Award from Royal Institute of British Architects. It attracts many tourists every year.
