]]>This road trip begins in Chicago, a city that is well worth a visit as one of the cultural centers of America, and reaches its conclusion in Santa Monica, a city in California. It traverses the famous ‘Route 66’, one of the first major highways in America and sometimes referred to as ‘The Main Street of America’.
As you leave Chicago, you will take in the agricultural plains of the Midwest, before seeing the rising peaks of the Rocky Mountains as you travel west. You will also be able to choose to visit either Yellowstone National Park to the North, or pass through the Grand Canyon National Park. These are some of the finest natural wonders of America, and will make for excellent memories on your roadtrip.
After the Rockies, you will enter the arid desert of the Southwest states such as Arizona and Nevada. You can choose to stop off in Death Valley National Park if deserts are appealing to you. After over 2,000 miles of driving however, the refreshing coast of California awaits you. This road trip can of course be amended in any way that suits you, but it’s a historic route that takes in some of the most amazing scenery and you will be following in the footsteps of many Americans who made the journey in the 1930s to migrate to the west.
