]]>Dreamboy tells a story with touches of horror, fantasy, surreality, and romance. Two original albums with music from the show are available for purchase. It uses a first-person narrator, mood and background music, in-world music, and sound effects to keep you within the story and completely on the edge of your driver’s seat the whole time. Do keep in mind, this podcast uses explicit language and has adult themes, so only listen if you don’t have kids in the car.
Gaslight uses voice actors and heavy sound production to not only immerse you in its world but to give you an uncomfortable and claustrophobic feeling. It creates a mood much like an indie filmmaker might create onscreen. It also features famous actress Chloë Grace Moretz in the role of its titular character. If you want a podcast that you can binge entirely on one drive, then this is a great choice.
It Makes a Sound is a fictional podcast within a real podcast. It follows a woman who comes back to her childhood home to care for her mother, where she discovers remnants of a boy she remembers as a brilliant musician. With her mother and a ten-year-old she babysits in tow, she searches for his lost music, documenting it in her own fictional podcast. In the real podcast, we hear all of the background noise, her inner thoughts, and her “real life” that don’t make it into her podcast. Like Dreamboy, there is a separate album of music available which “belongs” to the lost musician. The podcast starts out a little slow but picks up as it goes on.

]]>Based in Seattle, WA (where she shares a home with her cat and dog), Friend is very much dedicated to a life of travel, both locally and internationally. With some quarter-million followers on Instagram, and true to her last name, Friend has a knack for connecting with others, sharing her adventures in a meaningful and long-lasting way.
According to Friend, her love of adventure is tied back to her upbringing. “Growing up on a lake, I’d wake up to a low hanging fog and rain drops falling on the water,” she writes in one Instagram post.
Indeed, a love of water and fog comes through her unique photos, carefully curated. “There’s something so peaceful when this weather happens,” she reflects. “Everything becomes so quiet and all you hear is the rain hit the lake.”
Growing up near a lake is one thing, but Friend also explains her wanderlust through her unique connection with her late father. “My love for travel started at a young age because of my father,” she wrote in another post. “We had a Cardinal Cessna, so he made sure traveling and adventure was a big part of our childhood.”
Another spot that holds a special place for Friend is the Olympic National Park in western Washington: “Hands down, if you were to ask me the first place that really sparked my love for nature and the outdoors it would be this place,” she admits in one blog post. “The Olympic National Park is an expansive temperate rainforest, encompassing nearly a million acres and receiving an average of 138 inches (3.5 meters) of rain annually. It is a rare refuge for species dependent on old-growth forests and wild coastline (70 miles worth)!”
These days, you will often find Friend on the road traveling to the next destination. “One thing I enjoy about road trips is camping outside,” she notes. “It is so fun to make the campsite super cozy. I love smelling the fresh air when I wake up while being all bundled up in the sleeping bag.”
Her Instagram page and blog will inspire your next road-trip if nothing else!

]]>There are a few types of travel that are still viable at the current time, including one that is completely appropriate for the current situation in which we live: traveling in a camper.
Campers refer to either motor vehicles with included living accommodations or trailers that are pulled by a vehicle and contain living arrangements within them. Traditionally used by families who go on long road trips and on camping trips to the forest, people are finding more and more uses for campers these days.
The beauty of a camper is that it allows you to travel wherever you want without leaving the safe bubble of your own family. You don’t have to worry about checking into or out of hotels, sharing space with others, or obsessively protecting yourself while in contact with other people.
A country escape has become all the rage with campers this year, and with ample places to discover and park without getting in the way of anyone else, it’s easy to see why.
So, if you’re thinking about planning a much-needed vacation at some time in the near future, why not consider renting or purchasing a camper?

]]>The license plate game is a great activity for kids that are around 8 years old and up. When driving, challenge your kids to find a set number of license plates from different states or territories and play along with them. The first to reach the established number wins!
While you might not want your child to be connected to a tablet the entire time you’re in the car, let’s be real: it’s great for them to be able to watch a movie or a few episodes of their favorite TV show while in the car. In addition, there are tons of educational games that they can play too.
I-Spy is a classic game that you can play if you have more than one child with you in the car. You can “spy” things that are outside the car or inside the car and create a competitive, fun game that your kids will love.

]]>While Norway’s fjords, cliffs, and ocean landscapes can be seen in a variety of ways, one of the most interesting options for those who are looking to experience this country’s unique geography is on the world-renowned Atlantic Ocean Road.
This five-mile stretch of asphalt, which connects the island and population center of Averøy with the country’s mainland, is a twisty, up-and-down route that takes you over a path containing some of the most impressive and extreme road engineerings out there.
The Atlantic Ocean Road consists of several bridges that twist and turn in order to dodge the elements and take cars from point A to point B. The thrill of driving on this sort of road is only eclipsed by the thrill of taking in the breathtaking landscape from the window as a passenger.
If you’re lucky enough to end up in Norway, don’t hesitate and be sure to plan a drive on this spectacular route.
