If you’re traveling to NYC anytime soon and are looking for a tourist attraction that manages to be a consensus without deteriorating to basic-ness, check out the High Line. In short, the High Line is a 1.45-mile-long elevated park, where nature meets cityscape in a highly Instagrammable way. So, what do you absolutely need to know about it?

From Old Rail Track to Trendy Tourist Attraction

What used to be a forgotten rail track in the ’80s is now a trendy green haven suspended above Manhattan’s West Side. Thanks to the consistent efforts of neighborhood residents and the City of New York, and following years of planning, the High Line finally opened in 2009. Today, the nearly demolished historic rail is a public park that’s part urban playground, part outdoor art gallery, and fully awesome.

How Do You Get There?

The High Line stretches from Hudson Yards to the north of Chelsea, and no worries, getting there is pretty simple! Hop on the 1 or C train to 23rd Street and walk up to Tenth Avenue. Once you hit the High Line, prepare for a 30-minute stroll filled with wildflowers, lush greenery, and breathtaking views of the NYC skyline.

Now, if you’re worried about the climb, fear not, as elevators are scattered throughout the park. Plus, there’s park-level access at 30th Street near Hudson Yards, so, no need to stress about finding the entrance.

And if you’re up for a guided adventure, free tours are, offered on select days all year long.

Bangkok is one of those bustling cities that will make you feel like you’re constantly in a rush to see everything, but there will come a moment when you’ll just want to sit back and relax. Once it does, you should head to one of the Thai capital’s beautiful parks, and these three are a good place to start.

Lumphini Park

This enormous green area covers 142 acres in the heart of Bangkok and it’s the city’s very first public parks. Artificial lake with boat rentals is one of its strongest suits, but you can also come here to go for a relaxing walk or a jog, go bird watching, or visit one of many public events organized in the park.

Chatuchak Park

One of the oldest public parks in the city, Chatuchak is best known for a big pond with flower beds on its premises. In addition to picturesque scenery, this park is a great place to enjoy a long list of recreational activities, and it’s especially popular with joggers and cyclists.

Benchasiri Park

If you have a soft spot for beautifully landscaped parks, Benchasiri will be your cup of tea. Its intricately landscaped area around the lake and many modern sculptures on its grounds are its main attractions.
