]]>These strange “upside-down” trees can be found mainly in Africa and Australia. Their wide trunks and short little branches make them look as though they are upside down, their roots in the air.
Native to South America, these unusual trees have big bellies like trunks adorned with silk-filled spikes and great blooming pink flowers.
These great giants can grow to a height of over 300 feet and a width of 20 feet. Their colossal red trunks reaching up to the sky really is a sight to behold.
Known as the widest tree on the planet, this sprawling Montezuma Cypress is believed to be between 2000-3000 years old. Over time, the ancient tree has twisted itself into strange patterns and shapes, many of which are named after animals such as the elephant and the jaguar.

]]>Located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the “Green Island” offers visitors a bounty of beautiful natural sights to see and unforgettable places to visit.
Here are the best things to do on a trip to the island of São Miguel.
The sulfuric volcanic waters of the island make the options to visit a hot spring numerous. One of the best hot springs to visit is Caldeira Velha, which is located inside of a rainforest.
Lagoa do Fogo is a lake located inside of a massive volcanic crater. It’s easy to walk from the road down to the lake’s beach as part of an exhilarating 90 minute round trip hike that you’ll never forget.
São Miguel is full of beautiful waterfalls, but my favorite has to be Salto do Prego. Located on a 4-kilometer loop trail is this stunning cascade that falls into a small swimming hole that you can take a dip in.
One must-do thing in the Azores is to find a viewpoint from which to admire the Lagoa das Sete Cidades. These two lakes have different colors and can best be marveled at from a spot like the Vista do Rei viewpoint.

]]>If you’re looking for a place to kick back, relax, and enjoy nature, Lake Coeur d’Alene is the place for you.
Named after the native people’s tribe called Coeur d’Alene, the lake itself is so beautiful, and is perfect for people who love water sports like kayaking, canoeing, and more!
On the northern side of the lake, you can also enjoy the North Idaho Centennial Trail which runs for 24 miles along the lake and into the country! Perfect for a bit of hiking or cycling, and definitely the best running route.
One reason to get yourself to the lake is that you will be surrounding by some amazing scenery and wildlife. The lake is known to bring in a lot of bald eagles, so if you’ve never seen one before, that’s reason enough to visit. There will be guaranteed sightings because they eat the local fish called kokanee, so get out your cameras and start snapping pictures!
