Really wanting to do more astro this year and improve my technique, because you can’t beat clearly capturing the vastness of the universe. . The best part about this shot, are the lights on El Cap from the climbers perched on the wall. People do amazing things when they become inspired. . Side note: sorry about the noise. It didn’t show this much on the original picture. I guess I need to lower my ISO next time ??‍♂. . Well, it looks like I get to call this beautiful state, HOME. Colorado, here we come ?. . I remember over 2 year ago, I thought I’d be moving to Colorado, and had a very short, frustrating experience. I came back to Kentucky very upset and discouraged that I wasn’t able to make it work. However, as I left Colorado, I remember praying, confused why I went to Colorado in the first, and all I heard was, “Don’t worry, you’ll be back.” And now I’m married to the love of my life, I get to build my social media platform and business out west, and we get to plant our roots and build community in one of the most beautiful places on earth. It’s amazing to me how faithful my God is, and how he always comes through. His timing is far greater than mine. IMPORTANT READ: This first photo is a shot from the last trip I was in Yosemite, a few months ago. The second photo is from almost three years ago, from my 23 day road trip out west, right after graduation. As you can tell, I sort of understood framing and depth of field, but had no clue about correct lighting, or really how to produce consistent, quality results. I was just learning the basics, but those clueless, amateur moments laid the groundwork for where I am today. Your journey will probably not start out pretty or glamorous. There’s a high probably that you will fail often throughout your journey, and in the beginning, you might really suck at whatever you’re pursuing. But the difference between those who get to where they want to go, and those who give up, lies beyond the initial excitement and passion about a dream or venture. Passion will die without an equal amount of determination that drives your vision. Don’t let the fear of failing or the worries of a messy, “imperfect” start effect your trajectory and finish. Start building your foundation today, so you can look back and see how far you’ve come three years from now.
