Atlas Mountains

One of the most popular hikes in the Atlas Mountains is Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. The trek to the summit is challenging, but the stunning views from the top are worth the effort. There is so much more to see in Morocco than you can imagine. This former French colony gives travelers the opportunity to learn about ancient Arabic and Berber cultures, hike in the Atlas Mountains, and sunbathe on the beach.

Marrakesh

During the 1960s, Marrakesh was known as the “Hippie Mecca”, attracting celebrities like The Beatles, Yves Saint Laurent, and the Rolling Stones. This bustling, noisy, and colorful city is always buzzing. Once inside the medina (old city) itself, you enter a world of maze-like alleyways packed with historic sites, enticing food, and souks (or markets).

Fes

The ancient capital Fex is known as Morroco’s handicraft center. Much of the fun in visiting this city lies in wandering through the medina and seeing the craftsmen making and selling their wares. Don’t be afraid to get lost in the maze of little passages and alleyways.

Chefchaouen

Chefchaouen is one of the most picturesque towns in the country. This is because all of the buildings in its old medina are painted a beautiful blue, and the town is surrounded by mountains and hills.

Casablanca

There is much more to see in Casablanca besides the famous Hassan II Mosque. This city is a unique fusion of architectural styles and fascinating history.

Essaouira

Essaouira is one of Morocco’s most popular beach destinations. The white-washed homes with cobalt blue shutters provide a lively backdrop to the seaside.
