Columbia University is where Abe, Midge’s dad works and is very close to where their apartment is on West 113th and Riverside. Columbia is a beautiful university and you should definitely explore the area and campus with its gorgeous grounds and buildings.

So much happens in the record store Midge and Susie go to in season 1, and it’s eventually where Joel figures out Midge is now a comedienne. The name of the store is the Music Inn, and it’s a real music shop that you can visit and buy unique records at!

If you remember the third episode of the first season, Midge gets up on stage to introduce a jazz band after Lenny Bruce had just done a set. She, Lenny, and the band had smoked a little in the alley behind the joint, and Midge replaces Lenny who isn’t able to continue with the introduction. This spot is called the Village Vanguard and it’s an amazing jazz club that still has amazing shows! It’s been around since the 1930s and is such a cool experience to have.
