Eklutna Lake takes about an hour to reach by car, but it’s definitely worth it. It’s a popular spot with kayakers and hikers, but you can also just go there to unwind and enjoy nature.

If you want to enjoy some family activities without going too far, Jewel Lake is your best option. In addition to offering a beach and separate fishing and swimming areas, you can also play softball, volleyball, or just have a picnic inside the Jewel Lake Park.
