These hotels offer small, compact sleeping spaces known as “capsules” or “pods.” The capsules are usually sized to sleep one person and include nothing more than a bed in each pod. All of the facilities like bathrooms and showers are in a separate common area. Because of their space-saving quality, capsule hotels are most popular in urban areas. You can also find them in some large airports.  

So is this pod, not even big enough to stand in, worth checking out? Well, it depends.

Capsule hotels can be a great option for budget travelers since the cost of this stay is significantly cheaper than a classic hotel. They can also be good for solo travelers who don’t plan on spending a lot of time in the hotel. But for those who are traveling with family or plan on spending a decent amount of time in their hotel, it’s probably best to stick to a classic option.
