]]>One of the most beautiful waterfalls on the entire Hawaiian archipelago, Hanakapi’ai Falls is a must-visit. It’s located on Kauai’s north shore and is a bit tough, but it’s so worth it. It’s an eight-mile round trip, with 760 feet in elevation, so plan at least six hours to complete the hike. It’ll be worth it when you reach the 300-foot waterfall.
This hike is pretty serious, clocking in at 11 miles, but it’s also considered one of the best to do on Kauai. If you don’t see yourself backpacking for a few days, then you can always just visit it for a day trek of about two miles between Kee Beach and Hanakapiai Beach. You’ll get to enjoy seeing incredible waves and views of the Napali Coast.
Another one of the most popular hikes on Kauai, the Nounou Trail, which is also called Sleeping Giant, has lots of switchbacks and goes through shady forest and strawberry guava trees. It ends with views of the Wailua River and Mount Waiʻaleʻale, one of the wettest spots on Earth.

After taking the cable car, you should be more adventurous and walk to the trail leading to the crater. It’s a tough 40-minute climb, but think about it; how many can brag of reaching Spain’s highest point?
If you’re a trekker, you can bypass the Teide Cable Car and hike up the mountain on your two legs. It can take you a minimum of six hours, starting at Montana Blanca.
How about a real night sky to see stars, planets, and galaxies right under the Milky Way. It’s been so far recognized as a “Starlight Destination”. Visit Mount Teide National Park in the summer and enjoy the starry summer sky with two main protagonists: The Milky Way and the Summer Triangle.
