]]>For many, Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. This region provides access to the Outer Reef. Here you can find some of the clearest waters and most spectacular coral formations. Sites like the Agincourt Reef are famous for their excellent visibility and diverse marine life, making them perfect for both diving and snorkeling.
Port Douglas is a more laid-back, less touristy access point to the reef. From here, you can easily reach the Low Isles, a coral cay surrounded by stunning coral gardens teeming with colorful fish. It’s an ideal spot for snorkelers, especially beginners.
The Whitsunday Islands are known for their stunning natural beauty both above and below the water. I’ll find fantastic snorkeling and diving spots. One of the highlights is the fringing reefs around Hook Island, which are accessible from the beach and boast an impressive array of marine biodiversity.
