]]>Neuschwanstein is located near the village Hohenschwangau near the German-Austrian border. It was built by the infamous king Ludwig II of Bavaria who planned to live in the castle. However, the king died the same year the castle was completed – talk about bad luck! From then on Neuschwanstein has been open to the public and it has become one of the most popular German tourist attractions.
