]]> Netflix’s latest hit comedy Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga follows the journey of two friends from the small Icelandic town of Húsavík trying to win the Eurosong—but is their cozy home town a real place you can find on a map?

Eurovision made several factual mistakes, but it got one thing right—Húsavík is a real place, located on the north coast of Iceland. It’s situated on the shores of Skjálfandi bay, and it’s just as picturesque as the city makes it out to be.

It would be unfair to say that Netflix’s new film put Húsavík on the map since it’s been a popular tourist destination long before it. It’s one of Iceland’s prime whale-watching spots and even houses its own whale museum.

The list of popular attractions in this charming fishing village also includes Húsavík Church and the Exploration Museum. If you’re in the mood for a road trip, you can visit some of the breathtaking nearby attractions, such as Jökulsárgljúfur National Park and the canyon of Ásbyrgi.

]]> The Eurovision Song Contest is an international singing and songwriting competition that has been around for over 60 years. Although “euro” is in the title, it also includes a few countries that are outside of Europe. Every year the competition is held in the country where the last winner came from. Last year Netta won with her song “toy”, so this year it will be hosted in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Tel Aviv is the perfect city to host Eurovision. Not only is it a large metropolis, but the nightlife scene is also one of the best in the world, which means that there will be huge parties being throw all over the city in celebration.

The municipality is actually even throwing a festival in honor of the competition called Eurovision Village, which will go for 11 days straight! The village will have performances by past Eurovision winners and competitors, as well as famous Israeli artists.

Eurovision is all about coming together and bonding peacefully over something as fun as singing. What better place to host this kind of competition than in a country as complicated as Israel. So, are you going to head over to Tel Aviv for Eurovision? What are you waiting for!
