When it comes to alcoholic beverages, beer is Americans’ drink of choice. In fact, beer is the fifth most-consumed liquid in the country after coffee, water, soft drinks, and tea. It makes sense, then, that the U.S. has some of the best places to take a “beercation”.

San Diego, California

As the birthplace of craft beer, you can expect to find dozens of breweries in the Golden State. Hop on the San Diego Beer Train Trolley Tour or explore the downtown brewery scene in a vintage safari vehicle. If you’re in the mood for something a little different, pay a visit to Border X Brewing where you can sample a spicy chocolate stout.

Grand Rapids, Michigan

No beercation list would be complete without Grand Rapids which has earned the name “Beer City”. Founders Brewery is a must-see. Set in a former truck depot, the brewery is modeled after a German beer hall and offers a wide selection of seasonal and year-round beers.

Denver, Colorado

There are around 150 breweries in Denver, making it a big player in the craft beer game. There are also a variety of tours to choose from, including the Lower Downtown Denver Craft Beer Tour which features a historical walking tour, and the Rino Beer and Graffiti where you can check out the city’s street art scene.

Most people who visit Denver are there to explore its craft breweries and surrounding nature, but architecture lovers will also feel right at home in this city. The modern architecture of Colorado’s capital city is truly top-notch, and these three buildings best illustrate it.

Denver Botanic Gardens

Most people come to Denver Botanic Gardens to admire the many natural wonders that it has in store, but that’s not the only reason to visit it. Its architecture is truly stunning, especially its Science Pyramid with signature dark grey tiles.

Denver Art Museum

The journey through the richness of this museum starts even before you step inside. Designed by the Italian architect Gio Ponti, this building is covered with one million reflective glass tiles and its unusual shape was meant to break from traditional museum archetypes.

1144 Fifteenth

If imposing skyscrapers happen to be more of your thing, this is one building in Denver that you shouldn’t miss. Also known as the Wells Fargo Center, this high-rise is best known for its top floors that curve together, resembling vintage cash registers with its shape.

In comparison with other highly-developed countries, many have opined that the United States’ airports lag behind in terms of beauty, modernity, and technical innovation. While it is certainly true that many of the country’s airports need a facelift, there are plenty of beautiful flight terminals to fly in and out of in America.

Check out the most beautiful picks, and try to schedule a layover or flight through them ASAP!

Denver International Airport

Denver’s sleek, modern airport is full of natural light, works from local artists, and spacious and comfortable passenger areas. Even the exterior of the airport, featuring a 32-foot-tall fiberglass horse statue known as “Mustang” is undeniably a feast for the eyes.

Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport

Not only is Detroit’s international airport comfortable and up-to-date, including a beautiful bright red metro that transports passengers through its terminals, but it also features one of the most stunning art displays in the world of airports. The multi-colored light show in the tunnels that connect the airport’s tunnels is an absolute feast for the eyes.

Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport

This Montana airport primarily serves travelers to Yellowstone National Park, and the charming, mountain-inspired decor of its passenger terminal is the perfect introduction to nature. Featuring wooden panels and statues of the park’s animals, such as the fearsome Grizzly bear, this airport is one of the most aesthetically appealing in the country.
