]]> Cruise ships have always been a special escape but the bar has just been raised. In January 2024, The Royal Caribbean is launching a new cruise ship that will be the largest to set sail — the Icon of the Seas. This ship cost almost $2 billion to build and is setting a new standard in the industry. 

Here’s what you can expect. 

The ship has the capacity to host nearly 10,000 passengers. The design is completely new and modern – unlike any other ship sailing the sea today. 

The Icon of the Seas is fueled by liquid natural gas, making it one of the most environmentally friendly ships. It also has the infrastructure to make its own fresh water on board and has advanced air lubrication systems for lower decks. 

Entertainment-wise, the Icon of the Seas surpasses any resort. Among the 20 decks of this ship, there are seven swimming pools, a suspended infinity pool, and six giant waterslides (one of them the tallest ever built on board a ship). And there’s so much more to explore!

The construction of the ship began in 2016 and after a successful test run, the ship is ready to set sail.
