With that in mind, here are three great things you can do while exploring a new city that are outside and have minimal risk.
Zoos are a great activity for the whole family at any time, but this outdoor attraction is especially great in 2020. Seeing majestic animals in an outdoor setting with your loved ones is a fantastic and safe way to spend a morning or afternoon.
Another great option during the ongoing pandemic is a visit to a city’s botanical garden. Most cities that are visited by tourists will have at least one to check out where you’ll be able to see impressive collections of both native and exotic flora.
One of the revolutions of the past couple of decades has been the introduction of urban parks in many cities around the globe. Oases of green in built-up environments can be the perfect, safe place to escape the hustle and bustle that surrounds you while visiting a city.

]]>Perhaps Toronto’s most famous park is also its largest. The multitude of hiking trails along with all of the greenery will make you feel as if you are in the forest and not in Canada’s biggest city. Rougue Park was Canada’s first national urban park and offers even more activities than High Park. Here you can hike, fish, or even camp—only 30 minutes east of the heart of downtown. The park stretches until the shores of Lake Ontario and has national historic sites and a beach for swimming.
A little different than the first two parks, the Toronto Music Garden is a unique combination of music and nature. It was inspired by the music of Bach and is known as a great place for quiet and self-contemplation in the city. Take a free tour of the park’s design and history, or catch free classical music concerts on specific nights in the summer for a relaxing night out.

In addition, “The new capital of the South” has some great southern food. Southern BBQ’s, fried chicken, and all sorts of pies are just some of the southern variety available throughout the city.
If you have a stopover in Atlanta it’s worth it to stretch your legs in the city!
