The winding medieval streets with cobbled stones gradually lead to the old church and then to the huge old castle with its walls and ramparts to wander through. There are lovely parks in which you can rest and take in the lovely views.

]]>Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer is a small beach in the region but has some of the best walking paths. There is nothing like walking above the waves and seeing the natural vegetation as you go. The hike is fairly easy but will take a couple of hours, but there are also many places just above the path to stop and have a picnic.

Saint-Malo is a gorgeous walled port city. Although it was bombed during World War II, it still remains one of the most beautiful cities in the world. While you’re there, be sure to visit the chateau of Saint-Malo which has been converted into a museum. There are also many forts to visit there.
Just across the ocean from Saint-Malo is the beach town of Dinard. This is a very popular destination for people all around the world since the 19th century because of its beautiful blue-green waters and pristine beaches. The town was really shaped by Saint-Malo because the shipping merchants who landed there built all the infrastructure and made it the town it is today. Now you will find many beach-side restaurants and bars all overlooking the gorgeous sea. You can also go on a walk right next to the sea on the path.

Rennes is the capital of Brittany and is a small city with a lot of history. The city is famous for the architecture, which are half-timbered houses built in the Medieval times. While you’re there, visit the Musée des Beaux-Arts, which displays many famous painter’s works such as Botticelli, Picasso, and Rubens. Rennes also has Museum of Brittany, which gives the history the region. What’s fun about Rennes is that all of the street signs are in French and Breton, which is the type of Celtic language the people used to speak in the region.
Brittany is especially famous in France and around the world for two things; crepes and cidre. Although you can find crepes all over the country, Brittany is known for having the best ones. People say that Brittany is actually the birthplace of crepes back in the 12th century. When you taste one, you will see that there is slight differences in comparison to the crepes found around France.
Cidre is a special kind of cider made in the region as well. There all sorts of ciders, some very bitter, and some sweeter. The colors of the cider range widely as well from light yellow all the way to brown. Cidre has shown up in history since at least the 6th century, so it is definitely not something to miss out on in Brittany.
