Travelers are usually not too picky about the time of the year they visit destinations like Bangkok, Thailand. If you ask us, this is the right approach because you never know when you will get the opportunity again. However, if you happen to have an opportunity to make your pick, here is the best time of the year to visit Bangkok.

For Festivals: April

Those who wish to experience Thai culture and take part in famous Bangkok festival celebrations should go in April. This is when Songkran, or Thai New Year, takes place. It is considered the country’s biggest festivity, being celebrated for up to seven days with parades, water fights, and more.

For Budget Travel: June through October

If budget plays a big role, then we advise you to take the trip between June and October. This is when Bangkok and Thailand as a whole see fewer tourists, resulting in cheaper accommodations and services. The reason why not a lot of people visit during these months is the rainy and humid weather.

For Best Weather: November Through February

The best weather in Bangkok is from November through February. There is plenty of sun, but it never gets too hot. If you are traveling to see the major tourist attractions and get some suntan, this is the time of the year to do it.

The capital city of Thailand, Bangkok, is a sensory overload that features street food, haggling for goods, and a good time around every corner. What many people fail to realize about Bangkok, however, is its rich wealth of Buddhist temples which dot the modern city with beautiful, centuries-old pieces of architecture.

While you will undoubtedly find plenty to do during your trip to Bangkok, be sure to make time to stop at these three wats.

Wat Arun

A temple has stood at the location of Wat Arun for over 300 years, but the spectacular restoration of the temple which finished in 2017 has made this site more magical than ever. The massive 250-foot central tower towers above the Chao Phraya River over which it reigns.

Wat Benchamabophit

Wat Benchamabophit might be a mouthful to say, but it’s definitely worth a stop while in Bangkok. Known as “The Marble Temple,” you’ll find massive statues of marble dragons surrounding its ornate central temple.

Wat Pho

The largest Buddha images in all of Thailand are found at Wat Pho, including a massive 46 meter long structure of a reclining Buddha which is the highlight of a trip to Wat Pho. Its four marble towers and other various halls make this a place where you can get lost for hours.

🇬🇧Oh Thailand Thailand 😍🧡 We must admit that we had some reservations before we visited Thailand. We had heard mixed opinions about the country and we were not sure if we would like or not! 🇹🇭 Thailand exceeded our expectations by far, and we quickly understood why this country is one of the most popular places in SE Asia. We were lucky to see some of the most beautiful landscapes and beaches in Thailand. The country is also known as "The land of smiles" which is quite obvious as soon as you step off the plane! 🌴 This picture is from Wat Pho, a temple in Bangkok. If you are a big fan of busy cities, Bangkok is a MUST! Visit our website for RECOMMENDATIONS about Thailand! www.afootintheexplore.com .
