Sydney, Australia is the country’s largest city with a population of over 5 million people. You might think that it would be hard to get away from the crowds and bustling streets while visiting this world-class city, but you’re wrong!

Sydney has an excellent collection of public parks that serve as urban oases. A great alternative to other city plans, here are a few that you should keep in mind and visit while in Sydney.

Hyde Park

Sharing a name with London’s famous park, Sydney’s Hyde Park is also located smack-dab in the center of the city. Famous for its fig tree-lined pedestrian avenues and immaculately-kept gardens, you’ll feel relaxed and in nature here despite its proximity to the heart of the city.

Sydney Park

You’ll find a little bit of everything at this park located a few miles south of the city center. A former brickworks factory, wetlands, and small hills that offer panoramic views of the city of Sydney are just a few of the things you can explore and enjoy at Sydney Park.

Tumbalong Park

Next to Darling Harbour in the heart of Sydney, you’ll find Tumbalong Park. Featuring native Australian foliage, you’ll marvel at how this oasis of grass and playgrounds for the kids blends in so seamlessly with the skyscrapers which surround it.
