It’s no secret that the pandemic has made it impossible for people to travel to their heart’s desire. As a result, economies have floundered, jobs have been lost, and people have felt more cooped up than they ever were. However, although 2020 was incredibly tough, here’s why we actually believe that travel culture will actually improve as a result.

A Strong Return

From a logical perspective, it makes all the sense in the world. We want what we can’t have, and therefore people have wanted to travel more than ever over the last year. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if a major travel boom is on its way. It’s unclear when COVID-19 will be less of a threat than it is now, but if it ever dies down—flight bookings will skyrocket like never before.

Converting the Hermits

It’s not just the classic backpackers who will leave their homes the moment they get a chance. We believe that those who normally hate traveling will be converted to hardcore travelers because of this pandemic. Without any capabilities of leaving their home for months on end, who wouldn’t want to finally go somewhere? Indeed, we may see more backpackers than ever emerge over the next few years.
