Terrifyingly Bad Roads

If you are someday planning on visiting Bhutan and it rural parts, be prepared to have the worst car-ride of your life. The nerve-wracking and heart spinning roads on a 7,500-meter-high mountain will carve into your memory forever.

There Are No Traffic Lights

Bhutanese are known as well-behaved drivers, who drive slowly, without any anger or stress. Also, the number of cars isn’t high, so there is no need for traffic lights.

Cigarettes Are Forbidden

Do not try to smoke in public places if you don’t want to get arrested. The Bhutanese law does not allow smoking in public and the sale of cigarettes are forbidden as well.

Plastic Bags Are Banned As Well

Bhutan was maybe the first country in the world to ban the manufacture and the usage of plastic bags. Since 1999 the plastic bags are forbidden in this South Asian country.
