Agra is one of India’s top tourist attractions because it’s home to the Taj Mahal, the world’s most famous monument of love. Everyone wants to see this beautiful landmark at least once in a lifetime, but Agra is home to many more amazing historic places worth exploring.

Agra Fort

Agra Fort has been standing tall since the 16th century and it served as the main residence to the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty for some time. Its red sandstone walls make it instantly recognizable, and you’ll get to discover many smaller historical monuments while exploring its interior, most notably Jahangir Palace.

Itmad-ud-Daula

This monument is often referred to as “Baby Taj” and it’s believed that it inspired the interior decoration of this iconic landmark. Its walls are also made from white marble and embellished with semi-precious stone decorations.

Tomb of Akbar the Great

This monument was built in the honor of the Mughal emperor Akbar the Great, and it’s one of Agra’s most imposing architectural feats. It will take your breath away with its marble and red sandstone walls and beautifully landscaped gardens.

India is a country with a rich history, beautiful temples, and palaces that you need to visit at least once in your life. There are not many places in the world that will leave such a big impression on you and we can even say that a trip to India has the power to change your life. If you’re not sure where to start, how about the “golden triangle,” a tourist circuit that connects Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur? Here’s why we chose these three cities.

New Delhi

New Delhi is a wonderful and chaotic capital of India. It’s home to 25 million people and some incredible historical landmarks, like Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Temple and Lotus Temple. When in Delhi, you shouldn’t miss the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, and Humayun’s Tomb.

Agra

The city of Agra lays on the banks of the Yamuna river and is located around 200 km (128 miles) from New Delhi. This is the city where you can see the famous Taj Mahal mausoleum that’s protected by UNESCO, but also many other historical landmarks.

Jaipur

Jaipur is an ancient city where the royal family used to live. Today, it’s a popular tourist destination also known as “Pink City.” The amazing architecture of the city is best seen in Hawa Mahal, Amber Palace, City Palace, and other incredible places.
