When you’re in Rome, Italy, there is almost no chance that you’ll eat a bad pizza. Whether you are looking for a Roman pizza or Pizza Napoletana, there is no doubt you can get a great bite at almost any pizzeria you enter. Still, if you want to taste the best pizza Rome has to offer, consider visiting the following places.

Seu Pizza Illuminati

Despite not having a long tradition, Seu Pizza Illuminati saw a quick rise among pizza lovers. Situated just outside the trendy Trastevere neighborhood, this establishment prizes itself with high-quality ingredients, exceptional services, and one-of-a-kind pizzas you won’t easily forget. Their pizzas represent a modern take on the classics and they offer an impressive range of vegetarian pizzas. Additionally, you can also find intriguing takes on other Italian staples like Supplì and tiramisu.

50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo

50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo is spearheaded by renowned pizza maker Ciro Salvo and is part of the 50 Kalò chain that also has locations in Naples and London while being included in Italy’s Michelin Guide. Located in Ludovisi district, the place offers more than 20 different pizza varieties at any moment, each being more enticing than the next one. Additionally, the menu constantly changes based on the seasonal ingredients.

Dar Poeta

Dar Poeta in Trastevere might not be as flashy as the previous two places but it definitely knows its pizza. With more than three decades of tradition, this family-owned pizzeria has developed its own unique style of pizza that can’t be attributed to either Roman or Napoletana. They also have a separate section of the menu dedicated to pizzas that don’t use tomato sauce but are worth trying.
