Europe is an amazing continent with a huge variety of people and cultures and a broad range of landscapes. Czechia, also known as the Czech Republic, is a landlocked country in central Europe. Its capital city Prague is a popular destination for vacations and traveling, but once you leave the towns and cities the Czech countryside is pretty spectacular. The Krkonoše National Park is a stunning mountain range in the north, and here’s why you should plan a trip there.

A Unique Natural Place

This mountain range is the highest in Czechia, with its tallest mountain Sněžka standing at 1603 meters and offering incredible views from the top. There are other incredible hikes to take to experience the beauty of these mountains, with relaxed trails through the forest or treks across wildflower meadows, as well as thrilling ridge walks and steep, rocky ascents.

Amazing Connection With Water

There is a popular trail for hiking which takes you to the Labský důl Valley where you will find a natural spring. This is the source of one of the biggest rivers in Czechia, the Elbe River, and is a magical place to visit. Within this valley region, you’ll also find Czechia’s highest waterfall, the Pančavský Waterfall which has a drop of 250 meters.

Found in the northeastern corner of Europe, Finland is a fascinating country that, although quite hard to get to, is well worth it if you can. It offers some amazing scenery as part of the Arctic Circle, as well as a unique culture and many experiences that are unlike anywhere else. If you’ve never been, here are three reasons to go to Finland.

Incredible Natural Wonders

Finland boasts an array of incredible landscapes including some unspoiled coniferous forests and thousands of lakes and small islands. The Finnish Archipelago is an amazing sight to behold and you can enjoy sailing around it or traveling at higher speeds via a speedboat.

Finnish Culture

Finnish culture is quite unique, being situated between the rest of Scandinavia to the west and Russia to the east. Its small population and large landmass, combined with the Finnish Archipelago and an abundance of lakes, mean it is quite a wild country with unique people who are friendly if a bit eccentric.

Finnish Cuisine

Finland’s food is heavy on seafood and fish, with lots of dishes focusing on freshly caught fish. Try creamy salmon soup, or reindeer stew for a local dish that is unique and delicious. You might also end up at a crayfish party, in which Fins drink vodka and eat many crayfish to celebrate Finnish independence.

As a country, France has more than its fair share of stunning landscapes, exciting trails, and natural wonders. From the snow-capped Alps to the golden sands of the Riviera coast, locals and visitors alike can appreciate the natural beauty and splendor of France. If you’re visiting the country this spring or summer, head to one of these fabulous national parks, each of which offers a unique insight into the animals, plant life, and beauty of France.

Camargue Regional National Park

This wetland wonderland is situated on the south coast, near the city of Marseilles. It is famed for its native flocks of flamingoes, but there are plenty of other wetlands and wading birds to see. Although this area of France is incredibly popular, the Camargue maintains a sense of peace and tranquillity, so it’s a must-visit if you’re seeking some relaxing time in nature.

Morvan National Regional Park

Situated in the province of Burgundy, this gorgeous national park offers plenty of idyllic woodland walks, traditional farmsteads, and bucolic fields. This landscape is best visited in high spring or early summer, but the trees will also look stunning in the fall. There are many well-marked trails through the national park, so you can enjoy a relaxing ramble or a more strenuous climb, depending on what you’re looking for.

The Ardeche Mountains National Regional Park

These mountains are located in the southeast of the country. While they may not be quite as big or as bold as the famous Alps, there are plenty of reasons to visit this range. The hiking and climbing trails here are generally much more accessible for beginners than those found in the Alps, and there are plenty of stunning views from the mountains, stretching out across the Massif Centrale.

Aogashima Volcano Island is a hidden gem that even some of the most seasoned travelers might not have on their radar. Located, in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, Aogashima is a living testament to the Earth’s raw power and serene beauty, all wrapped into one. Let’s take a closer look.

The Island Like No Other

Aogashima is a volcanic island that could easily be the setting for a mystical story. The island is essentially a volcano within a volcano. The outer crater of the island has a smaller, active volcano in its center. This rare geological phenomenon creates a unique landscape that is both daunting and inviting.

Life on Aogashima

Despite the potential danger posed by living on an active volcano, the small community on Aogashima embraces their unique home with warmth and resilience. With a population of just over 160 people, the community is tight-knit. They live in harmony with their natural environment. The islanders utilize geothermal energy for daily cooking in steam-cooking facilities and heating public baths. It’s an impressive model of sustainable living.

Visiting

Aogashima is slowly gaining recognition. But for adventure travelers, the breathtaking natural beauty, and the sheer uniqueness of life on a volcanic island is already a must-visit destination.

Reykjavik, the vibrant capital of Iceland, may be compact in size, but it’s bursting with culture, history, and natural beauty. With just 24 hours to explore this charming city, here’s how to make the most of your time in Reykjavik.

Morning

Start your day with a hearty Icelandic breakfast at one of Reykjavik’s cozy cafes. Fuel up with traditional dishes like skyr (Icelandic yogurt), rúgbrauð (dense rye bread), and smoked salmon, paired with a strong cup of Icelandic coffee. After breakfast, head to Hallgrímskirkja, Reykjavik’s iconic church and one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. Take the elevator to the top of the church tower for panoramic views of Reykjavik and beyond, including the colorful rooftops of the city, the surrounding mountains, and the sparkling waters of Faxa Bay. Next, explore Reykjavik’s vibrant arts and culture scene with a visit to the Reykjavik Art Museum. Housed in three distinct locations across the city, the museum showcases contemporary Icelandic art, as well as works by international artists.

Afternoon

For lunch, head to the Old Harbour area and dine at one of the seafood restaurants overlooking the waterfront. Sample fresh Icelandic specialties like lobster soup, fish and chips, or grilled local fish, while soaking up the maritime atmosphere of this historic district. After lunch, take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront promenade of Sæbraut. Admire the striking modern sculpture of the Sun Voyager, a symbolic representation of Iceland’s Viking heritage and maritime history, before continuing on to the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre. Marvel at the stunning glass façade of this architectural masterpiece, which hosts concerts, events, and exhibitions throughout the year.

Evening

As the sun begins to set, head to the Laugardalslaug geothermal swimming pool for a relaxing soak in the warm waters of the outdoor hot tubs. Located in the Laugardalur Valley, this popular swimming complex also features indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, and steam baths, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. After your swim, indulge in a traditional Icelandic dinner at one of Reykjavik’s top restaurants. Sample local delicacies like hákarl (fermented shark), smoked lamb, or Icelandic lamb soup, paired with a glass of Icelandic beer or schnapps. Finish your evening with a stroll through downtown Reykjavik, where you can explore the city’s lively nightlife scene.
