]]> Bisaccia is a picturesque Italian town that is now selling houses for $1. If this sounds weird, you should know that this is not the first place to do the same. The whole point is to prevent dying communities and make people want to stay.

“We face a very particular situation here. The abandoned [area] spreads throughout the most ancient part of the village. Forsaken houses are clustered together, one next to the other along the same roads. Some even share a common entrance,” Francesco Tartaglia, deputy mayor, told CNN Travel.

Bisaccia is located in the Campania region of Italy and counts a population of around 3,000 people. According to the statement, everyone is welcomed, especially families who want to move and stay there.

A house in this town, however, won’t come without a price. The investment that you’ll make comes with a contract—you will have to commit to renovating the place, but there is no assigned budget or a time frame when the renovations need to be done.

Most of the places that are offered need to be renovated completely, and this should not be just your vacation home. If this sounds like a good opportunity, better hurry up to find your perfect spot.

]]> Ibera National Park in Argentina was officially recognized in 2018 as a way to protect the wetlands in the country as well as the wildlife. This is an exciting traveling spot that spans over 395,000 acres — which makes it the largest nature spot in Argentina, combined together with the neighboring Ibera Provincial Park.

Ibera National Park is a great place for all adventurists who would love to witness unique animals and enjoy a whole range of activities. Let’s start with the fact that you can go on a safari trip and see monkeys, deers, otters and so much more. These are all in their natural habitat, so it will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Ibera features over 4,000 plant and animal species.

Some of the other fun activities include horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing, booking a boat tour, river rafting, hiking, and so much more.

There are several accommodation options that are located in nearby towns, so you have to plan your trip very well in advance. You can visit the national park during the summer, but it’s even better if you do it in spring or fall because it tends to get very hot and humid.

"Babe let's drive 850k to visit a national park." Not the easiest sales pitch when relaxing on a balcony in Buenos Aires, recovering from four weeks of driving/trekking in Patagonia. But two days later after fourteen hours of driving, countless potholes and one punctured tyre (again!!) we arrived at Colonia Carlos Pellegrini in the Ibera National Park. Pellegrini village is a 120k dirt road away from the nearest town Mercedes and built next to the beautiful Laguna Ibera. Was it worth the effort? Definitely! If you like wildlife (aligators, capybaras, deers, monkeys and hundreds of birds) this is one of the best places to visit in Argentina. You can get a great view of the lagoon and animals on a two hour boat trip that leaves three times a day from the village camp site. It's also a very chilled out place, so much so that we had our first pool day of the trip (only six weeks in)! Do you have any recommendations for off the beaten track destinations?
