Blue Nile Falls, Ethiopia

The river has several classes of rapids along its course. Class IV and V rapids are on the Northern Gorge while the rest of the river has class III and IV. August-October is the most convenient time for rafting on the river due to dam-controlled outflow.

Orange river, South Africa

White water rafting is done above the Augrabies Falls. The ‘roller coaster’ and ‘blind faith’ rapids are sure to get your heartbeat increasing. The best thing is that rafting here can be done all year round.

Zambezi River in Zimbabwe

It is popularly considered as the number one whitewater destination in Africa. A stretch of 24 km with 23 rapids will give you an exhilarating whitewater experience. The River offers Class IV and V rapids, beginning from the base of the 110 meter Victoria Falls.

Other rafting destinations include the Mangoky River in Madagascar.
